Making sure you're not paying too much

If you've gone a few years without refinancing, you could be paying 'loyalty tax' by not keeping your bank accountable. It's important to remember that banks are a business! And while your bank isn't going to let you know there are cheaper rates on offer - I will. 

Here's how we review your home loan:

• Step 1: We'll have a chat about what you want to achieve through refinancing, like accessing equity or lowering your repayments. I will then order a valuation of your property, to give us some good leverage for a better deal. 

• Step 2: I approach your existing lender and push for a cut to your rate. Often, they may offer a better deal to keep you as a customer. This can be the quickest way to achieve your refinancing goals.

• Step 3: I then reach out to our panel of over 35 lenders - including big banks, credit unions and non-traditional lenders - to see if someone else will offer a better deal on your home loan. I do all the negotiation on your behalf because as a Mortgage Broker, I know when they can do better.

• Step 4: Once we've got some offers on the table, I will explain everything to you in detail. We go through the benefits vs costs of switching and if it is worth refinancing. If you choose to go ahead, I will manage the entire refinance application on your behalf.
